Press Release

The Montford Music and Arts Festival is the longest running free street fair in Asheville. This year will be the 16th annual event. Activities start at 10 am and include something for everyone.

Children can browse the offerings of Snake, Rabbit and Snail Bookmobile, get a face painting and fairy hair or try some sidewalk chalk art. Every hour a new band will take the spotlight on a centrally located stage and between sets expect a visit from the Chinese Dragon who will lead an impromptu parade past the artisans’ and crafters' booths lining Montford Avenue. We haven't forgotten food! An eclectic variety of food trucks and vendors will offer a broad sampling of tasty finger food and meals.

All this takes place on the tree-lined streets of the historic Montford District, just two blocks from the Visitor's Center and a short walk to the restaurants and activities of downtown Asheville. Please stay tuned for updated information!
